The Weave is an online magazine exploring pashmina, Nepal, tourism, mountain stewardship, craftsmanship, gifting, and the many unexpected connections among them.
Published by Sunrise Pashmina, The Weave is an editorial magazine rather than a marketing blog. It is devoted to first-hand observation, informed discussion, and genuine curiosity.
For us, pashmina is more than a beautiful textile. It is a window into the landscapes, communities, skills, and economic opportunities of the Himalayas. We believe that thoughtfully managed tourism, traditional crafts, and sustainable enterprise all have important roles to play in the future of mountain regions, particularly in Nepal.
That perspective explains the magazine’s unusually broad range of subjects. Some articles examine textiles and the pashmina industry. Others explore mountain communities, conservation, international partnerships, travel, or ideas that simply seem worth following wherever they lead.
The editor (and, unless specified otherwise, author) is Seth Sicroff, whose work over several decades has included pashmina, tourism research, mountain stewardship, and international exchange.
